Overview
Hybrid-powered survey-class USV used by XOCEAN for low-impact over-the-horizon ocean data acquisition and offshore survey campaigns.
XO-450 is a civilian survey-class uncrewed surface vessel developed by XOCEAN in Ireland for commercial ocean data acquisition. It is a wave-piercing catamaran using hybrid power from solar cells, lithium-ion batteries, and a micro diesel generator to support extended offshore survey missions. Public XOCEAN material describes the platform as 4.5 m long, 2.2 m wide, 2.2 m high, about 750 kg, capable of 18-day missions at 3.5 knots with roughly 1,500 nautical miles of range, and able to carry up to 100 kg of sensors. Payloads and services include multibeam echo sounder, sub-bottom profiler, side-scan sonar, magnetometer, USBL, CTD, weather station, and offshore wind, environmental, fisheries, and hydrographic survey work. Current XOCEAN fleet pages emphasize over-the-horizon operation, satellite communications, 24/7 operations, and low-carbon survey operations.

Notes
XOCEAN material describes the XO-450 as a 4.5 x 2.2 x 2.2 m, 750 kg wave-piercing catamaran USV with a hybrid power system. Published figures include 18-day endurance, approximately 1,500-1,512 nmi range, 3.5 kt speed, 100 kg sensor payload, 640 W solar deck, 2 kW diesel generator, and 5 kWh lithium battery. Current XOCEAN technology pages describe survey-class USVs with full over-horizon operations, MCA Cat 0 certification, 24/7 operations, hybrid power, satellite communications, and industrial-grade sensors.
